Skyborn Paperback Publication

It's here!

The paperback of Skyborn is out today. I am so thrilled. This means that my Thrones & Bones series is now complete in both hardcover and paperback editions.

Skyborn was the hardest of the three books to write, because it had to both be a story in its own right, with a beginning, middle and end, as well as pick up where Nightborn left off. And it had to tie up all the loose threads and unanswered questions begun in Frostborn. It also introduces several new characters, and it greatly expands the history and mythology of the world. Whereas we started off in a Norse-inspired environment, and with Nightborn we reached into some other European myths, Skyborn dips into the creatures of Greek mythology.

When the hardcover came out, School Library Journal said "Young readers who are definitely not ready for the brutal and ever popular 'Game of Thrones' books and TV show will enjoy this series, which is similar to it in both structure and name."

That's a really flattering comparison, but I was especially heartened when a reviewer at Fantasy Literature wrote, "As a parent, I can whole-heartedly recommend this trilogy to middle graders and young adults. The action is fast-paced and exciting, the characters are loveable, kids will learn quite a bit about different civilizations and about mythical creatures, and the story extols the virtues of friendship, diversity, teamwork, kindness, and mercy." And speaking of the audio, they add,"This would be a good trilogy to listen to together as a family."

So if you haven't yet read book three, now is a great time. You can, of course, get the book at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Booksamillion, IndieBound, or anywhere books are sold.

Have a great day!

For fans of Lloyd Alexander and Brandon Mull comes the epic conclusion to the acclaimed Thrones and Bones fantasy-adventure trilogy that began with Frostborn.

Find the Horn. Free the City.

The chase continues for the legendary Horns of Osius. Thianna and Karn’s quest to retrieve the horns from those who wish to abuse their power takes them to Thica, an ancient land where two tyrant queens reign supreme and where years earlier Thianna’s mother was labeled a traitor. Soon the two heroes are caught up in an epic battle for control of the kingdom, one that puts their very lives at stake. The only way to overthrow the queens is to beat them at their own game. But with an entire empire against them, how can Karn and Thianna hope to compete—or better yet, survive?

The novel includes instructions for playing the board game the Queen’s Champion, a Thican timeline, and King Herakles Hammerfist’s recipe for the Best Spanakopita Ever.
