Not Such...A Long Time Ago...

Entertainment Weekly Excerpt
Hi *|LNAME|*
Star Wars: Pirate's Price has been out for two months now, and I am really encouraged by how well it's being received. It's been a very gratifying experience for me. My core audience is eight to twelve year olds. I only get to interact with the bulk of my readers at school and book festival visits (which I LOVE, let's be clear). But they aren't online for the most part. Since Pirate's Price came out, I've had daily feedback from Star Wars fans, the bulk of it on Twitter (where I am @LouAnders). I'm not used to this constant stream of accolades and it's pretty heady. Of course, I'm still sitting at the monitor, trying to hammer out the next novel. But it makes the sitting a little more fun!
Meanwhile, more beans have spilled concerning Galaxy's Edge, the Star Wars theme park opening later this year at both Disney Land and Disney World. And one of my favorite beans is the bean that Pirate's Price is (drum roll please) the set up for one of the two main rides, Smuggler's Run (where you get to pilot the Millennium Falcon yourself). Both io9 and EW did big profiles of Galaxy's Edge, and both were cool enough to call out Pirate's Price when talking of the ride and point towards the book to explain the reasons that Hondo Ohnaka has the Falcon to begin with. Of course, both articles are well worth reading for more than my brief mention. The park sounds amazing, and I cannot wait to go and meet Hondo myself!
That's it for now. I'm sitting on some other fun news I hope to be able to share in a few. I'll wish everyone a good day and leave you with some of the great things people are saying about Pirate's Price on the webs. And may the Force be with you!
"It’s just an incredible, fun adventure… this book I will read to my children, and I will read it in a Hondo voice, because it is so much fun. It captures the heart of Star Wars. It makes you remember why you love Star Wars. So if you’re looking for a good Star Wars book, pick up Pirate’s Price. It doesn’t matter that it’s for eight to twelve year olds. Guess what? Star Wars is for eight to twelve year olds, so this is perfect. Ten out of ten death stars. I’m not even lying. It’s such a good book." The Star Wars Escape Podcast
"This book has a little something for everybody....I wholly recommend you pick this up." TheForce.net
"What makes this book really special, for me, is how Lou Anders nails Hondo’s voice throughout. He did a great job writing the character, especially for a first time Star Wars author. Hondo has a very distinct voice that you can just hear in your head as you read the book." Numidian Prime
"The story is quite enjoyable whether you want to read it yourself of read it to your children." Scum 'N Villany
"Pirate’s Price is a very enjoyable book. For fans with kids, or kids who would like to share Star Wars with their parents, this would be a great book for parents and kids to read together." Star Wars News
"So much to take in and so freaking much to love!! I can't get over how hard I fell for this story. It is officially my new favorite canon novel." The Star Wars Review
"Lou Anders did a great job creating new worlds…wonderful world building in classic Star Wars style….Overall, I really enjoyed this book. It’s a quick read. Don’t let the junior grade designation put you off…" Retrozap
"This book is a gift and will make you laugh out loud more than a few times. Pick yourself up a copy." Tosche Station
