Once Upon a Unicorn

Big, big news time! I am finally allowed to talk about my next book and show off the amazing cover! I've been sitting on this for a while! The book is called Once Upon a Unicorn, and it's the story of a unicorn and a night mare (a horse with a burning mane) who have to overcome their differences and their respective herd's animosity towards each other and solve a problem threatening their home. It's set in the same word as my Thrones & Bones series, but it's on an island off the coast, part of a chain of islands called the Glistening Isles that are home to the fairy folk. The book is a departure from my previous work. It's still middle grade (8-12 year olds are the target), but lighter and maybe sillier and I even developed a new voice for the telling of this tall tale. It was a blast to write, not least of the reasons why because I had input from my daughter, who even created one of the fairy monsters you'll meet. So needless to say, it's a very special book for me.

Once Upon a Unicorn comes out August 25, 2020. The cover, which I absolutely love, is by Brian Edward Miller.
