A Rundown of TTRPG News

As I am furious working, nose to grindstone, on the final stages of production for the Fury of the Forsaken Kickstarter (now available on the Backerkit Preorder Store, please check it out), I want to take a moment to shine some light on some other tabletop roleplaying game news of note, particularly a couple deals for books you might not be aware of that are worth checking out.
Miniature Market is having an Adventuring Sale. As part of this, they've placed the Midgard World Book on discount for $5.99. This is a steal for a massive campaign guide that usually goes for $50 or more! It's no secret that this is my all-time favorite setting—COUGH COUGH, my own fantasy world excluded of course, COUGH COUGH. Even if you aren't going to play in Midgard, the wealth of inspiring material here is beyond belief. I highly recommend picking it up while this sale continues. This really is the gold standard for campaign books. I'd be getting it myself if I didn't have it twice already!

Something I did pick up recently but haven't had a chance to dive into yet is The Game Master's Book of Instant Towns and Cities. This is part of The Game Master Series. I have their dragon book, but I haven't looked very deeply at the rest of the line. That said, I've always heard good things about the books. A dear friend of mine pointed out that this volume is on Amazon right now for $10.96, which is certainly cheap enough to make it worth picking up and checking out. If I get very deeply into it, I'll report back. (And if you get to it first, I'd love to hear your thoughts.)

Something that isn't discounted because it just came out, which I've been waiting a long time for, is Kobold Press' Book of Blades. This is an expansion for their 5th edition system, the Tales of the Valiant RPG, focused exclusively on martial classes. It has 14 new subclasses, new backgrounds, talents, and weapon options, and also a wealth of new mechanics. I just downloaded the PDF yesterday evening and skimmed through it once, but I'm particularly interested in the new downtime activities (which include raising armies) and the expanded ship to ship combat rules. There's also good information on martial factions and organizations, which is broadly applicable to factions in general, as well as advice and mechanics for mentors and rivals. I am thrilled to finally have this in PDF, can't wait for the hardcover to arrive, and I hope it shows up on Shard Tabletop REALLY SOON.

Finally, thank you again to everyone who participated in the "What would you like to see Lazy Wolf Studios do for our next Kickstarter?" poll. I was pleased with the number of folks who participated (you can still vote), and surprised by a few of the results. Not surprisingly, the monster book + adventure anthology tops the list, and if you add in the choice for a monster book on its own, then a whopping 35% of you want the monster book. So monster book it is! I'll have more details later, but it's already well underway. This is a book of monsters pulled from all over the continent of Katerina, not just Norrøngard, and the accompanying short adventure anthology will take place everywhere but! Look for a Kickstarter launch page later this fall.

Also, remember you can watch our ongoing Norrøngard Unscripted live play tonight (Wed) at 5:30 PST and 8:30 EST. Hope to see you there!
And that's it. Thanks everyone for being here, let me know your thoughts about the above, and talk to you soon!
