Interview: Ksenia Kozhevnikova

I've been fortunate to work with fantasy illustrator Ksenia Kozhevnikova beginning with the first Thrones & Bones TTRPG publication, the Norrøngard Campaign Setting, and she's been part of every project since. In particular, Ksenia does a lot of the wonderful character work for Thrones & Bones, including the five busts above of the heroes of our Norrøngard Unscripted actual play.

Recently, I sat down to talk with Ksenia about her background in illustration and her current work. We covered growing up in Siberia, starting out in illustration, her early work for Paizo, her later work for a number of publishers (Lazy Wolf Studios included), and her involvement with HEMA (Historical European martial arts). A discussion of both of our artistic inspirations gets into a bit of a digression, but we cover a lot of ground!

In other news, Thrones & Bones Official Community Discord has gotten an overhaul. It was originally set up for me by a very kind soul, but I've taken over ownership recently. I discovered a lot of the channels were private and a lot of them didn't make as much sense today as they did initially.
