ScripTips 1: What, Why, Who

An overview of what this is, how it came about, and why I know it

This post kicks off a series that will discuss my own method for plotting novels. Before we get into it, I’m going to discuss how the method was developed and why, as well as my qualification for teaching it.

From 1995 to 1999, I worked in Hollywood. Initially, I had a brief career as a production assistant (P.A.), working on infomercials and pop music videos. I had such illustrious jobs as fetching apple boxes (wooden stands uses to add height to props and actors), driving returns for rental equipment, ferrying extras to and from sets, dumping thousands of dollars of paper money on rap bands from roof tops, sorting said money back into stacks because the prop guy thought getting it in different denominations would be better and it couldn’t be returned in a lump if they wanted their deposit back, and fetching water for the nude body paint model who couldn’t sit or drop her arms to her sides.
