Two Books, One Adventure

"Two New Thrones & Bones Books". Cover of FURY OF THE FORSAKEN and THE BENSE TRILOGY over an icy fjord.

Greetings.

Copies of the two latest Thrones & Bone books are showing up in the wild now, as backers of the recent Kickstarter receive their rewards. But both titles are now for sale to everyone on DriveThruRPG.

The first is Fury of the Forsaken. From lead writer Richard Pett (WotC, Paizo, Kobold Press) and myself, this is a book-length adventure for Dungeons & Dragons and Tales of the Valiant intended for 4th level characters. It tells a grim tale inspired by Norse myth and Scandinavian folklore.

You and your fellow adventurers must traverse a snow-covered landscape to reach Frekrheim, an ice-bound lake town built upon the frozen waters of a fjord. In Frekrheim, your party uncovers a dark and tragic mystery, while simultaneously working to fortify the town against a siege of draugar—the vile, malevolent undead known as “after walkers.”

Fury of the Forsaken is an intense, moody, atmospheric tale with a dark mystery at its heart and a dramatic battle at its finish. It also feature new, quick to learn and playmrules for handling mass combat in 5e games. It includes an impressive 25 battlemaps from our partners at Heroic Maps and showcases 12 new monsters and 9 well-developed NPCs. If you and your players want to experience a saga for the ages, check out Fury of the Forsaken now.

The other great, new offering is The Bense Trilogy. This is a compilation of three previously published adventures, Banner of the Bull by Yours Truly, Keeper of the Drowned by ENNIE-winning author Brian Suskind, and Troll of the Town from frequent Kobold Press contributor Kelly Pawlik. Revised and expanded with new setting material and intended for levels 1-3, The Bense Trilogy is the ideal companion for the book-length adventure,Fury of the Forsaken. Together the two volumes form a complete Tier 1 adventure path and are a perfect introduction to a campaign set in the great northern land of Norrøngard.

Scandinavian Heroes March through the Streets of a Viking Town

Banner of the Bull: All communication with a ring fortress near the border of Norrøngard has gone dark. The Jarl of Bense needs someone to journey there and learn what has happened.

Keeper of the Drowned: The sacred statue of the goddess Njunn has been stolen by merfolk and dragged into their subaquatic caves. The Jarl of Bense seeks heroes to brave the cold waters, confront the merfolk, and recover the stolen statue before the city of Bense is lost beneath pounding tidal waves.

Troll of the Town: Something has been sneaking into the city of Bense at night and stealing from its citizens. Tracks in the dirt suggest it can be only one thing—a forest troll. The jarl wants the matter dealt with swiftly. For a brave band of heroes, it’s time to go on a troll hunt!

Thank you very much for your support in the past, and if you haven't gotten them already, I hope you will check out these two new books from Lazy Wolf Studios.
