We're Back...
This past Wednesday night, we returned to our actual play, Norrøngard Unscripted, after a hiatus of a couple months. We stopped to go away and finally finish our Empire of the Ghouls campaign (a great, book-length adventure from Kobold Press). We didn't want to stream the last chapter of a campaign that started four years ago(!), so we thought we'd just finish it and come back.
But this week, we picked up on Aster, Brunhilde, Frodi, and Gertrud as they made their way downriver in Araland, heading to the western coast with the plan to sail home to Norrøngard. Along the way, we got to play test a new monster, an Aralish giant that will appear in the forthcoming Bestiary of Katerina, coming to Kickstarter later this year.
We ended the session on a cliffhanger, which you can sort of see spoiled in the image below! So check out the episode if you missed it, and I hope you'll join us next Wednesday when we're back, 5:30 PST/8:30 EST.
In other streaming news, A Tale of d20s ran a 6-part Tales of the Valiant game called "Wyrd Roads: Beyond the Ice" that blended my land of Norrøngard with Kobold Press' multiversal Labyrinth setting. In the adventures, about half the party originated in my world and then they all went from there into the connected series of roads and tunnels that branch between a million worlds that is the Labyrinth. Here's a link to the show in Twitch if you want to check that out:

In other news, I'm very excited by Free League's latest Kickstarter, Trudvang - The Legend Returns. Trudvang was a setting developed for the 1st edition of Dragonbane which parted ways with its game engine for a time, became its own thing and a boardgame, and has now returned to its roots for a completely stand-alone version of the new edition of Dragonbane. I'm all in on the Kickstarter. I'm currently running a Dragonbane campaign at home with their amazing core box set. I'm also wondering if I shouldn't do a Dragonbane Norrøngard book at some point. (Thoughts? Does that sound like a good idea?)
Finally, Star Trek: Starfleet Academy continues to be amazing. I understand the show is not for everybody, but it is very much for me. And I say that as someone who has walked through the Voyager and the Enterprise-E, and lay on the second floor of DS9's promenade. I have a long history with Trek, and this is Trek at its best. If you haven't checked it out yet, I very much encourage you to. I don't think folks realize how lucky we are to have Tig Notaro and Bob Picardo in the same show!
That's it for now. Take care and talk with you soon!
