The Dark Knight, The All Important Triangle, Problems and Reconciliation
Continuing our discussion of the “Do you know what your problem is?” scene and our “Reconciliation with the Relationship Character” scene, we’re going to look at Christopher Nolan’s brilliant 2008 superhero film, The Dark Knight. Screenplay by Jonathan Nolan and Christopher Nolan, with a story by Christopher Nolan and David S. Goyer, The Dark Knight is one of the best live-action treatments of superheroes in cinema. But that’s not why we’re examining it here now. We’re doing so because it is a beautiful illustration of the principles I’ve been talking about in the All Important Triangle and it has the greatest “Do you know what your problem is?” scene in film history.
So set your atomic batteries to Power and your turbines to Speed, because here we go…
