$10 off Vengeance of the Valravn

One of the things I’d like to do to say thank you for subscribing to this newsletter is to offer the occasional discount on my TTRPG products. So today I’m offering a coupon for $10 off the hardcover of Vengeance of the Valravn. The discount, obtained from clicking on the link, is good from now until 6/21.

Vengeance of the Valravn is a stand-alone hardcover adventure for characters of around 7th level set in the city of Sindholm in the land of Norrøngard. The story is a little darker than I’ve previously gone. It explores several monsters from Norse mythology and 19th century Scandinavian folklore that are pretty grim indeed. However, it is designed to have a happy ending, and, in fact, the inspiration for the adventure was to craft a tale that was “wolf positive.” I’ve been feeling bad about the way that wolves are used as low level antagonists in video and roleplaying games, easy opponents along with rats and goblins, for newbie characters to level up against. So I set out to write a story where wolves were allies against the monsters. Looking for a suitable monster for them to oppose lead me to the 1800s folk stories about valravn, horrid wolf-raven hybrids that preyed on children. And the story wrote itself from there (with the help of the wonderful Kelly Pawlik, frequent Kobold Press contributor). You can learn more about it by following the link. And thank you for subscribing!
